Seton Hall Men’s Basketball Enjoys Visit To Fanatics Headquarters
South Orange, N.J. — As part of its mission to educate and empower Seton Hall University student-athletes by facilitating Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, Onward Setonia partnered with renowned sports memorabilia conglomerate Fanatics to host the Seton Hall men’s basketball team at its New York City headquarters on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The student-athletes were treated to a tour of Fanatics’ offices in downtown Manhattan and a thorough overview of its trading card business. Players were able to create their own custom trading cards, check out some of the current Topps trading card products, learn about licensing their NIL for trading card rights and network with Fanatics employees.
“Experiencing and learning first-hand from some of the best in sports business made this trip invaluable for Seton Hall men’s basketball student-athletes,” said Eric Liebler, a Seton Hall alum and former men’s basketball team manager who served as a full-time staff member for two seasons and facilitated the visit. “Visits like this is what Coach [Shaheen] Holloway looks for when it comes to educating his players about the business side of the game. While the student-athletes learned a lot about leveraging their NIL, their biggest takeaway from this trip was the importance of networking and making connections that will help them succeed off the court. I want to thank the team at Fanatics so much for their hospitality.”
